Pediatric Dentist in Summer Creek

Quality Dental Care for Your Kids

Chrishelle Hemphill, DDS, MBA, is a pediatric dentist at Cuddle Kids Dental Care in Fort Worth, proudly serving the Summer Creek area. She’s dedicated to each child’s oral health from birth to high school. As your "kids' dentist," she’s committed to your child’s dental care – their teeth, gums, and mouth – throughout these important years.

Pediatric dental care is very important for your baby. Your child’s baby teeth start to grow in by the time they're 6 months old. In elementary school, at age 6 or 7 years, these baby teeth are replaced by permanent (secondary) teeth. It's our job to work together now to give your child a healthy smile for life.

Why Your Child Needs Care From a Pediatric Dentist

Early dental care is a must for your child. Without regular visits to the pediatric dentist, your child faces the possibility of tooth decay or disease that starts the lifelong cycle of complications and pain.

Dental caries, or cavities, are the result of an infectious disease in early childhood. Many parents don't realize that kids' dental problems occur five times more often in children with asthma and seven times more often in children with allergies like hay fever.

Your children aren’t smaller adults. They’re full of energy. They might not be as patient, calm, or cooperative as you’d like at their dental exam. We know how to make your children feel comfortable, and we love doing it. The specially designed equipment at our office is decorated and placed with your children in mind.

We offer an array of treatment options along with pediatric dentistry training and advice to help you care for your child’s oral health at home. When your pediatrician recommends a dental exam for your child, Cuddle Kids Dental Care provides the best possible care.

Treatments Offered by Cuddle Kids Dental Care

Our kids' dentist offers comprehensive oral and dental care that includes the following services:

  • Infant oral health examinations to assess the child’s risk for dental cavities. It's never too early to plan for your child's oral health.
  • Preventive dental care services, including cleaning, fluoride treatments, nutrition, and dietary recommendations. As your kid's dentist, Dr. Hemphill will take the time to discuss the factors that affect your child's oral health. Children should visit the pediatric dentist at least twice a year for preventive care appointments.
  • Child habit discussions, such as a child’s thumb sucking. If your child sucks a thumb or won't part with their pacifier, Dr. Hemphill can offer advice on how to change this behavior.
  • Early evaluation and treatment to straighten teeth or correct the child’s bite with orthodontics. The condition of your child's teeth affects their decision to smile. Let Dr. Hemphill help them remain confident.
  • Repair of dental defects or tooth cavities. Your child's baby teeth set the stage for their permanent teeth. If they get dental cavities, they need a pediatric dentist.
  • Identification and diagnosis of certain oral or mouth conditions associated with diseases or chronic conditions, like hay fever, diabetes, attention deficit-hyperactivity disorder, or congenital heart disease or defect. If your child has any chronic illness, allergy, sensitivity, or congenital condition, they need specialized pediatric dentistry care.
  • Gum disease management and/or treatment of pediatric periodontal disease. It doesn't seem fair that kids sometimes struggle with gum disease and dental problems. If your child's gums are red, swollen, or bleed when they brush, bring them in soon.
  • Dental injury care, such as for one or more teeth broken at school or a fractured/displaced tooth. This requires urgent care. We're here for our patients, and we'll always do our best to save the tooth.
